About Me

My Qualifications

I have over 25 years of experience in this field – 14 years of which were gained as SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) at Battle Abbey School. As well as this, I recently acquired a PG Certificate in SEND: Real Training. I have a CPT3A: Real Training and an Assessment Practising Certificate: Dyslexia Guild. I am a member of the Dyslexia Guild as well as a registered Test User with the British Psychological Society. I regularly attend professional and relevant courses to update my knowledge.

About Me

I was born and brought up in Johannesburg, South Africa, where I trained as a teacher. After working in the classroom for a few years with primary school children up to 9 years of age, I decided to branch out and specialise in SEN. I have lived in Bexhill-on-Sea for 19 years. My husband and I have 2 grown-up sons who live in London and a little dog called Sammy. In my spare time I enjoy reading, playing tennis, swimming and dog walking.

Why Choose Me?

I feel that I am particularly approachable, good at establishing rapport, and empathetic with pupils and testees. I really enjoy helping children gain confidence in their abilities. Over the years I feel that I have made a difference, particularly in tutoring Maths, as I find it rewarding to make topics less daunting and more accessible to all I teach.
